On February 11, 2014 I married my best friend in one of my favourite places on earth – Costa Rica! I simply cannot describe how wonderful the day was. I am incredibly grateful that my dear friend Tiina could be there to guide my bridesmaids and I in a morning yoga practice. It was the perfect way to start the day. We grabbed our yoga gear and bouquets and wondered over to Cala Luna and asked if we could use their outdoor yoga space. I’m so thankful they said yes! It was absolutely beautiful. Tiina lit a candle for our dad’s who could not be with us on that memorable day. It was the most surreal yet grounding and integrating experience. I’m so thankful to all of our loving and supportive friends and family who made the trip with us. I could never have dreamed up a day more full. Full of indescribable amounts of love, yet full of the difficult emotions that come along with the recent loss that was so deep. It was especially wonderful for me to get to practice yoga with some of my best friends in the world on the morning I married my soul mate and that is a moment that is timeless to me.
The day was beautifully captured by a dear friend, Hugh Whitaker (which you can also view his curated gallery on his Blog) and his lovely wife Jennifer Moher (who tells her story of the day on her Blog as well). Thank you both for capturing this moments that were so dear to me and my husband.
