Lindsay Jones is coming to Sarovara Yoga to offer the restorative and healing experience of yin. Yin yoga is a slow paced yoga which targets the connective tissue (fascia) by holding poses for longer periods of time. It is a balance to the “yang” or fire that we cultivate in vinyasa classes. This passive practice will allow the body and mind to soften and release.
A yin yoga sequence involves only 8-10 poses that are experienced for 5-10 minutes each, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. With as little effort as possible, the bolsters, blocks, blankets and pillows support you in light twists, seated forward folds, gentle backbends and more.
