A full day yoga retreat with Ally Boothroyd & Tiina Kivinen.
Tiina & I are very excited to announce our FIRST Bobcaygeon retreat together! Tiina is an all-time favourite teacher of mine and I am constantly inspired by her classes and teachings. She is one of my most beloved friends and co-facilitator of the 200 Hour Teacher Training that you all hear me talk about with so much love. This is definitely a dream come true for me. I’m so excited for this day!
The intention behind this yoga retreat is to dive into the energy of summer, fire, light and the celebration of summer solstice of the medicine wheel of the year. We will learn the ancient ways of working with the rhythms of nature and about this phase of welcoming the light, the element of fire, the direction of the south and the full blossoming of the peak of prana/light of the sun in the Northern Hemisphere. We’ll integrate the energy of the sun through suyra namaskar (sun salutations) and take lots of time to connect to nature through ritual and presence.
We will dive in to an immersive experience in the a gentle yet fun way. We will re-enchant our souls with the natural surroundings. Allow people the space to relax and breathe and also to take some new tools home with them to support their own self-care regimens.
We will invite people to let go of the busyness of life and its demands and pause to listen to their own mind-body-spirit-heart’s desires & needs. The intention of this retreat is to allow us the space to heal.
Together we’ll explore the ayurvedic principles of healing through self care, food, and personal sadhana (practice). We’ll re-enchant our individual souls within the presence of the natural surroundings. This immersive day-long experience will allow you the space to nurture yourself in the most gentle and restorative way. You’ll take home new tools that will not only support your own self-care regimens, but will help you to support and serve your family, your community, and beyond.
We will let go of the busyness of life in order to pause and listen to your heart’s desires. We’ll replenish and fill our cups. We’ll slow down, let go, embrace, nourish, and heal within a safe, welcoming, and supportive space.
Meet Tiina: Tiina has been teaching yoga for over 14 years and offers classes in Peterborough Ontario and Nosara Costa Rica. Tiina is the founder of Amrita Living Yoga 200 hr training, and Peterborough Living Yoga.
She offers creative, flowing, prayerful, and prana infused yoga that tunes us into our divine nature. With emphasis on the deeper practices of yoga, her classes inspire a connection to the wisdom of prana (life force) and a deep honouring of inner wisdom and the experience of the present moment. Tiina is excited to offer this spirit filled yoga retreat in Bobcaygeon.
Meet Ally: Ally is the founder of Sarovara Yoga, a space which fosters local community and supports health, personal growth, authenticity, awareness, and awakening. Ally is dedicated to inspiring depth, creativity, and joy by sharing the most potent tools from a variety of yogic traditions. She brings an openhearted, inclusive view to her teachings, which are a rich blend of Kripalu Yoga along with Yoga Psychology, Yoga Nidra, Integrative Restoration, Amrita Yoga, Classical Hatha & Tantra, Energy Medicine, and Preistess Mystery School ceremony. The day will start off at 10:00am with a morning yoga practice (asana, pranayama & meditation) over-looking our secluded bay on Pigeon lake. We will be taking some time to eat a nourishing, clean, plant based Sattvic Ayurvedic meal together in the afternoon. We will be taking some time to reflect, integrate and spend time in nature. Our afternoon might include a mixture of yoga nidra, meditation workshops, Ayurvedic practices, creating ceremonial artifacts, or exploring energy medicine techniques. Tiina and I are so excited to offer this wonderful healing experience together.
Our meal time will include another opportunity to deepen knowledge and skillfully cultivating health and sustainability. Discover the benefits of a plant-based diet and how it can encourage a thriving, intentional, and energized lifestyle. We will enjoy a healthy and wholesome vegan lunch and you will feel nourished by delicious, fresh and flourishing plant-based food!
The morning sadhana (practice) will begin at 10:00am so please arrive around 9:50am to settle into savasana in the space. Meal time will be around 12:30pm and the day will end at 6:00pm.
